NLU Delhi, unlike other NLUs under CLAT, is not part of the central CLAT system and conducts its own independent entrance exam (AILET) for UG and PG law admissions. It follows a unique reservation policy structured to promote diversity and social inclusion.

🧾 Explanation of Each Category

1. General

Open to all candidates not covered under any reserved category. Admission purely on merit through AILET score.

2. Scheduled Caste (SC)

15% of seats reserved for candidates from SC communities as per the Indian Constitution. Valid caste certificate required.

3. Scheduled Tribe (ST)

7.5% reserved for ST communities. Must provide proof of tribal status from recognized authorities.

4. Other Backward Classes (OBC – Delhi Only)

Applies only to Delhi domicile candidates. Must belong to Non-Creamy Layer and be recognized by Delhi Govt. Seats vary by intake year.

5. Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)

10% reserved for families with annual income below ₹8 lakh and not in any other reserved category. EWS certificate required.

6. Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

5% horizontal reservation. Applies to candidates with at least 40% disability. Requires medical proof.

7. Kashmiri Migrants

1 seat reserved as a supernumerary quota for students displaced due to Kashmiri violence. Requires documentation from authorities.

8. Foreign Nationals / NRI / OCI

10 separate seats. Exempted from AILET. Admission based on academic performance, SOP, and interview.
